To all the Red Arrows Team,

Sincere Condolence

On behalf of the Asociación Menorca Britannia I write this letter in sadness after hearing of the tragic accident of last weekend and the death of your colleague Flt Lt. Jon Egging. We were all so thrilled that you were able to take part in the 300th Commemoration of the founding of the British Naval Hospital on the Isla del Rey, Your awesome display over the harbour of Mahón last May will be a lasting memory, not only with members of this association but with all of the British and Spanish residents of Menorca.

Many of us were privileged to meet the whole team at the official receptions and record the enthusiasm and professionalism of you all. What fantastic ambassadors for the United Kingdom! Jon, of course, we remember well and I ask you to convey our deepest sympathy to his wife and family.

To you all, following this traumatic time, we hope that you can soon take to the air again to thrill the crowds as, no doubt, “Eggman” would have wished. I finish by paraphrasing the words of General Luis Alexandre in his article in the local Menorca papers today---- “Jon, fly high on your premature journey to the heavens”. RIP.

With best wishes
Yours sincerely
Bryce Lyons President
